Mountains moving Marvin
What a great weekend. Kommetjie produced the goods as predicted on the South to South West switch on both Saturday and Sunday. For some the walk down to Red Hill was only equaled by the walk back up again as it seems this season will be owned by by the nasty little South switch in the middle of a raging South Easter. So Saturday involved a bit of a trans Peninsula trip for some, but conditions at Kommetjie were great on the SSW after the switch had happened. Sunday started off a bit on the light side to say the least and Marvin had a marvelous walk down the slope after somewhat misjudging the light conditions. As the day progressed, so did the lift and in the end it was pure and proper. At this stage combat was joined and Marvin thought he would have his first bash at the tried and tested maker of men. And low and behold, first tap and Marvin is making for the sticks, this time half way up the hill, rather than half way down. This necessitated somewhat of a search but in the end our venerable visitor got to see more of the hill in one day than he may have wished. Great weekend in all and great to see the almost full crew on the hill including Steve, Malcolm, Christo, Jeff and Nic, Ryan, Noel and Dad, Brendan, Young Vaughn…. and Lionel doing an early morning cameo role on Sunday. Nice one lads and great to see so many visitors paying attention and interest in the Hobby as they passed by.
Landing practice can sometimes deliver some nice shots
Noel in landing mode as well
Mally, Noel and Brendan all peer skywards
Young Vaughn does the bobejaan op die berg thing
A Canadian looking like he was about to go for a hike. Funny you should mention that…..
