Fun weekend, again as it was  not supposed to deliver anything,
but Saturday up at the Cannon proved a great time with light to moderate
but wonderfully buoyant cool lift. All fine except for the lock-out of an Aldij and the searing pain
as the lock-out refused to relink and the performance glider
took to mother earth in ever smaller circles, gathering some speed
at the same instant.
Even the perfect rendition of the now famous Mongolian egg dance,
involving much arm waving and a light footed capability developed over
years of surfing, failed to get the transmitter to bind.
Hopefully Christo will take photos of the repair and we will blog
his expert repair capabilities as well.
In a way very lucky as only the very outside panel met with damage
and the rest of the glider stayed pretty much in tact.
Also did a bit of a clean up, as some monumental idiots left a whole pile
of rubbish up at the cannon, and we felt it necessary to continue clean up
in good faith with the Navy rather that risking losing the site.
Tyres, pipes and all manner of backyard rubbish,
including a past sell by date braai, willingly dumped and left there.....daft!

Met Schalk at the Hobby shop and am so happy to report
that the Vulcan is just the best thing since sliced cheese,
looking unbelievably awesome and getting a few final touches,
panel lines and such so as to make as real beaut of a slope soarer.
Not long now and we will be launching the heavy metal off the cliff face
again at the Black Eagle, So best finish those projects, as this weekend
seems to herald the first of those awesome winter weekends
with a real clanger hitting in on Saturday,
Sunday and through to Monday with plenty of wind and rain.
Here it comes gentlemen! Ready those gloves.
