Funny Bunny Weekend
Strange to say, but Easter is generally one of those terrible weather weekends
and yet we all flee the province for areas where the weather seems
to be even worse…
Traditionally Easter hands us our first cold front, and this weekend
was not going to be any different…was it?
Heard a comment that the entire east coast was just mizz the whole weekend
but it was not much better here on the Peninsula.
Friday started the weekend with a nice South Easter
and plenty of fun was had back at the Cannon and
kudos to Alan and David for taking on the challenge and landing the Vector
and Hawk like they had just put it down by hand.
But Saturday the wind howled at insane levels with the South Easter
off the charts and once more big kudos the the lads and ladies that ran the
Two Oceans Marathon in that weather. Well done guys and dolls, Mally included,
what an amazing achievement.
So no sloping on Saturday, and Sunday was no better with
yours truly getting his arse blown off Chapmans Peak in the
midst of an early morning jog amid howling gale force south east conditions,
before the entire show blew itself out by lunchtime and then stopped in its tracks.
Mother nature then took a deep breath, gathered her forces
and switched overnight into a howling North Wester.
So Monday found Kippie standing on Chapmans peak
for most of the day by himself with the Aldij going at
something stupid a pace and then being joined by Alan and Ryan
just before the rain moved in an gave the whole place a 6 hour drenching.
Once again, just shows what a varied and interesting place this is
and how seldom are two hours the same, which makes slope soaring
around here very interesting, varied, challenging and a hell of a lot of fun.
Someday’s you just see the oddest things on the road!
Car, kennel in car…. dog in kennel… all chained togehter….
Red Hill Early on Friday
Setting up camp, could be worse I suppose?
Wayne joined us for the afternoon, Mally chills before the Two Oceans
Big pointy thing at the back there
David sets up the Bee before bringing up the Hawk
Alan and Mally enjoying the groove and doing some mind blowing speed runs
with Vector and Aldij
Sunday lunch at Chappies, before the wind went ballistic and blew the rain
in by 4 pm, what a contrast to the day before
