Fine and mild with rain
The Cape weather seems to confuse the Jo’burg lads…Chris came down for the weekend from Gauteng and
struck it rich with a beautiful postcard perfect day
up at Kommetjie on Saturday on a moderate
to strong Southerly breeze.
With a front approaching the Southerly did finally
switch back to South Westerly and fun was had by all.
Combat was great and Christo, Schalk and Brendan
all had the walk of shame to collect downed planes
from differing parts of the slope, with Schalk having
the mountain climb to beat them all.
Sunday dawned Beautiful, but then changed in the blink of an eyelid
and proceeded to rain for 2 hours. Which had Chris completely confused
and phoning SAA to see how quick he could get back up north.
Then it cleared…..
We made a run for Signal Hill.
Flew for an hour, had lovely fun in clear sunshine, put on suntan lotion, weather.
Then it rained…
We stood under a tree for a while and chatted.
Then it cleared….
We flew some more and the wind then switched hard south
and the slope became useless.
So from NW in the morning right through to South in the evening
with at least 3 of the 4 seasons packed into the day.
To us this is just normal and what makes the Cape peninsula
such a great place to live.
You just have no idea what will happen next
and you just have to be out there, or miss out.
For the guys up north, this is just plain confusing!
