Combat Rules Version 1.01 a proposal
Here is a proposal for some combat rules around which we can build. We are trying to achieve an easy to implement and referee set of rules that give the participants the most fun. The idea is then also to keep a score and running total over a year and crown a combat king for the year as well as individual events.
I’ve done a web search and propose the following structure/rules.
If you hit another plane/wing or are hityou get a point. (so no arguments about who hit who). In WWII if you flew up the ass of a lancaster and the tail gunner shot you down you were shot down it didn’t help if you came up the ass of the lanc.
You need to record the hit in your head or on a piece of paper or your Tx. I don’t care but we will collate scores at the end of the session to cross validate.
If you crash i.e. land before the end of the session or get knocked down i.e. any reason for landing you are “killed” and loose 2 points. This includes watching the babe cycle past on her bike and loosing control, of the plane of course. If you launch and crash on take off you are -2 points except Bill who has exemption to this rule in terms of the grandfather clause.
If you are hit and crash you do not get to keep the hit point. So for clarity no point for the hit and -2 for the crash.
All combat aircraft must be made of foam and have no EXPOSED metal or fiber glass, metal linkage is ok. Maximum weight for combat aircraft is 1.5 kg.
All types of aircraft and sizes of wings are welcome as long as they meet rule No 5.
Combat sessions will be 10 mins long from the “combat on call” to the “combat over call”. Hits only count if more than 3 planes are in the air. (This is to stop Damian and Carlo as counting every session as combat).
If you hit another pilot or spectator, not his aircraft with your aircraft, you the hitee (out of control pilot) buys the hittor a 6 pack of heineken mgd or castle. (If you poke someone in the eye with an aerial refer to Brendon, if you hit an aerial with your plane and break it you pay otherwise no penalty, if you hit it with your TX body car etc refer to Brendon. Any disputes refer to ObiCanobi)
The pilot with the most points at the end of the session wins the session. At the end of the season (yet to be defined but probably 1 year), there will be awards (ACES) for the most kills (1st 2nd 3rd), a Top Gun award for the best ratio (1st 2nd 3rd), of kills to crashes and a RIP award for the worst kill to crash ratio. The Top Gun award counts the most for skill but the ACES matter the most. If you don’t fly for your country you don’t count!!
If you fail to call your frequency and cause another plot to crash out you are – 10 points! For the other pilot Rule 3 applies “sorry”.
The person who laughs the most gets the Loki of the year award ( a bottle of Jack). At the moment its a close call between Damian and Kevin.
Apologies to foamie 77 for “lifting some of their rules”. Have a great comp!
