Happy new Year for 2014 and to some really great slope soaring
Not going to type much here, but rather let the images take you through a journey of the December holidays highlights:
Meeting our Canadian friend, Marvin and getting an international perspective of just how special our slopes are. Getting some really awesome days in at Kommetjie on more than a few occasions and as per usual all days had awesome lift with nary a breeze on ones face. Getting Signal Hill firing in the middle of summer two consecutive weekends and enjoying flying some of the big stuff and playing pass the radio as we did so as to keep them airborne as long as possible. Then probably some of the best Red Hill conditions in between and a cracking day at Smitswinkel Bay and finally…. probably the worst fetch on the planet when Steve landed out at Kommetjie and try as we might we could just not get to the glider in the thick bush as the rain pelted the daylights out of us and rendered us soaked to the skin. Three differing routes later and we got out of dodge with the glider in hand and a lesson in rain soaked bush bashing handed down.
To the pics – with a large volume of those being generated by Steve the photographer, as we know him nowadays and the rest from my iPhone camera.
